1Introduction & Offline-First Privacy Architecture
Tech2U Savannah ("we", "our", or "us") develops CPA Foundation Level Exam Prep (Package ID: com.tech2u.cpafoundation). We believe privacy is a fundamental right. CPA Foundation Level is engineered from the ground up as an offline-first, zero-account revision companion.
Core Privacy Guarantee: CPA Foundation Level does not require user registration, logins, or submission of personal data such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or academic records. All revision modules, question banks, and scores remain stored exclusively on your device.
2Information We Do Not Collect
To preserve complete student privacy, we enforce strict data minimization:
- No Account Creation: No username, passwords, or profile data are collected or required.
- No Academic or Student Tracking: We do not record or transmit your KASNEB student registration numbers, exam marks, or study schedules to external servers.
- No Financial Information: The application is completely free to access with zero in-app purchases or payment processing.
- No Precise Geolocation: We never request access to GPS or fine location hardware.
3Local Data Storage & Progress Tracking
The app stores non-sensitive configuration and learning progress entirely on your local device using Android SharedPreferences:
- Completed Papers & Reading Progress: Tracks which modules have been read.
- Bookmarked Study Sections: Stores your saved reading checkpoints so you can resume where you left off.
- Quiz Scores & Pass History: Records your multiple-choice quiz marks to display readiness analytics.
- Display & Theme Preferences: Saves your chosen appearance preference (System Default, Dark Mode, or Light Mode).
- Study Reminder Preferences: Stores your daily 8:30 AM push notification preference and last-seen briefing date.
You can reset all stored study progress or clear saved bookmarks at any time via Settings → Reset Revision Progress or Settings → Saved Bookmarks.
4Device Permissions & Technical Justifications
Required exclusively for requesting digital advertising via the Google Mobile Ads SDK and querying GDPR consent preferences via Google UMP.
Used solely on Android 13+ (API 33+) to schedule local daily morning study prompts (08:30 AM). Users can toggle reminders on or off at any time in the Settings menu.
Allows local AlarmManager notifications to reschedule after a device reboot if daily study reminders are active.
5Advertising & Google UMP Consent Framework
To keep CPA Foundation Level 100% free for all students, we serve non-intrusive advertisements via Google AdMob.
- Ad-Free Reading Surfaces: All syllabus reading sections and interactive quiz questions are strictly ad-free to protect focus.
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): We deploy Google's certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) to gather explicit user consent for personalized vs. non-personalized advertising under GDPR and CCPA.
- On-Demand Consent Revocation: You can review or modify your consent choices at any time by navigating to Settings → Privacy Consent Preferences.
6KASNEB Syllabus Disclaimer
CPA Foundation Level Exam Prep is an independent educational study aid designed to support candidates preparing for the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) qualification. Content is organized in alignment with standard KASNEB syllabus structures. This app is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by KASNEB.
7Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)
Our app is designed for professional accounting candidates and university/college students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area).
8Global Privacy Rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA)
Under international privacy laws including EU GDPR, UK GDPR, and California CCPA/CPRA, users have the right to access, rectify, or delete their data. Because all learning records are stored strictly on your local device, you can exercise full data erasure at any time by clearing app data in Android system settings or clicking Reset Revision Progress in the app.
