1 Introduction & Core Philosophy
Welcome to Crease (“we”, “our”, or “the App”), developed by Tech2U Savannah. Crease is a papercut climbing arcade game designed with client-side autonomy, zero server tracking, and data minimization at its foundation.
Core Privacy Guarantee: Crease does not require user accounts, logins, phone numbers, or email addresses. All gameplay mechanics, scores, rank unlocks, sound settings, and challenge seeds remain strictly on your local device.
2 Information Handled Locally (Data Minimization)
The App stores gameplay preferences and local progression metrics solely on your device using Jetpack DataStore:
- Gameplay Statistics: High score, highest combo tier, farthest page reached, total gates cleared, run counts, perfect passes, and blot cleanses.
- Rank & Unlocks: Lifetime fold ranks and unlocked papercraft themes.
- Local Preferences: Sound effects and haptic feedback toggles.
- Deterministic Daily Seeds: Seed history for daily page challenges.
None of this information is ever uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.
3 Android Permissions & Hardware Usage
Crease requires only minimal standard permissions necessary for operation and monetization:
4 Third-Party Advertising & Google UMP Consent
Crease is free to play and supported by Google AdMob advertising (frequency-capped interstitials at natural run breaks and optional rewarded revives). We enforce strict compliance with global privacy regulations:
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): On cold launch in applicable jurisdictions (EEA, UK, Switzerland), the App presents Google's certified CMP consent form.
- No Ads Without Consent: AdMob SDK initialization and ad requests are deferred until consent information has been resolved and confirmed.
Google AdMob & Google Play Services
Google may collect device identifiers, approximate IP location, and ad interaction telemetry in accordance with their privacy policies:
5 Consent Revocation & Opt-Out Rights
You maintain continuous, permanent control over your advertising and data preferences. At any time during gameplay, you can:
- Open Settings from the Home screen or Pause menu.
- Tap CONSENT PREFERENCES to re-open Google's certified consent management dialog and adjust, grant, or revoke consent.
- Reset your device Advertising ID via your Android system settings: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset advertising ID.
6 Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Crease is designed for general audiences of all ages and does not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in applicable European jurisdictions). If you believe a child has provided personal information to third-party ad providers through the App, please contact us immediately to address the issue.
7 Global Regulatory Compliance (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Swiss DPA)
We comply fully with international data protection frameworks:
- GDPR / UK GDPR: Lawful processing is established via user consent obtained through Google UMP. Users have full rights of access, rectification, objection, and consent revocation.
- CCPA / CPRA (California): We do not sell or share personal information. Users may opt out of personalized advertising via system or CMP controls.
- Swiss DPA: Fully adhered to via certified UMP consent mechanisms.
