Soma AI is an intelligent mobile study tool designed to turn textbook pages, class notes, and past papers into structured summaries, multiple-choice quizzes, and spaced-repetition flashcards.

We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency. 2Information We Process & Collect

Soma AI is designed from the ground up as a privacy-first, local-first study application:

• Camera & Photo Ingestion: When you photograph textbook notes or select images from your device gallery, optical character recognition (OCR) extracts text directly on-device. The original image and extracted text remain within your private application directory.
• Study Material & Content: Synthesized study decks, bulleted summaries, practice quizzes, flashcards, and spaced repetition review schedules (intervals, ease factors, repetitions) are stored purely on your local device storage.
• API Keys (Optional): If you choose to configure a personal Google Gemini AI Studio API key in the settings, it is stored in secure local preferences on your device and transmitted directly and exclusively to Google's official Gemini API endpoints over HTTPS.
• Non-Personal Diagnostic Data: Standard anonymous operating system crash reports and performance statistics may be collected by Google Play Services to ensure stability.

Soma AI is 100% free to use. There are no paid subscriptions, in-app purchases, or locked "Pro modes". To sustainably support development, the app displays advertisements provided by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

AdMob may collect and process pseudonymous identifiers and device data, including:

• Google Advertising ID (GAID / AAID)
• IP address (for coarse geographic location and fraud prevention)
• Device model, manufacturer, operating system version, and screen size
• Ad interaction metrics (impressions, clicks, video completions)

Because your data is saved locally on your device, you possess complete sovereignty over your information:

• You can delete individual decks directly from the deck details screen.
• You can perform a complete nuclear wipe of all local study decks, flashcard review intervals, and quiz history by selecting "Clear All Local Data" in the app settings.
• Uninstalling the application immediately removes all app-specific database records and cache files.

8Children’s Privacy Protection

Soma AI is designed for students, educators, and lifelong learners. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Advertising networks operating within the app are instructed to serve child-safe and age-appropriate content in compliance with COPPA and Google Play Families policies where applicable.

9Security Safeguards

We employ standard Android application sandboxing, transport-layer security (HTTPS/TLS) for external network requests, and encrypted memory storage for temporary OCR tensors to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
